I'm Tami Joe!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Board Certified Registered Art Therapist. I founded UnMasked Expressive Therapies from the trunk of my car in 2016 with the hopes of bringing healing through art therapy to the Dodge County and Surrounding area. Now we create in a studio filled with sunlight! I work most often with people who experience the world differently due to neurology, trauma or developmental differences. I walk the journey with many who have faced hard experiences and are seeking healing and growth. I love helping people better understand themselves and others.
There is not an art form that I am not excited to explore! I tend to create most in tactile media like ceramics, fiber arts and watercolor.
Outside of UnMasked, I am found outside! I love hiking, kayaking, camping and beekeeping with my family!

I'm Tyler!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Training and developing the credentials for registration as an art therapist. I trained under Tami in grad school and am excited to continue to work in this community. I have experience working with a wide variety of individuals with differing needs. I find passion working with individuals of diverse gender identity as well as other members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The thing I love most about UnMasked is the realness! At UnMasked, we can be our most authentic selves with out judgement. The space allows each provider to support each member of our community with the resources to express themselves in their own style and voice!
Although I find passion in different forms of art, My favorite art media is digital art. I have experiences with both digital illustrations on tablets as well as creating vector images. In session, we often find an opportunity for book making, story telling and soft sculpture.
Outside of UnMasked, I write and illustrate comics, play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends and go for long walks!

I'm Wasabi!
I am the official greeter and snuggle partner. I was found on the streets of Texas in 2018 as a puppy and brought to WI to be fostered by Tami Joe and her family. She failed as a foster when I melted into her heart and I won a permanent friend. I became a therapy after much training and I love coming to work each day to provide comfort to all the humans. I always seem to know who needs me most.

I'm Ashley!
I am an independent skill developer at UnMasked. I get to work with anyone who needs an extra person cheering them on and supporting both mental health and life goals. Together we build skills and confidence. I love the truly warm and inviting feeling of UnMasked. It is an amazing and safe place, full of self-expression and self-discovery, where everyone wants to see each other learn and grow.
I am always excited to try new things in art. On my own, I like to draw and paint but really enjoy trying new crafts and finding new ways to add beauty to things I already have! I love gardening and learning to care for my many plants is one of my favorite challenges. Every week, I have game nights with my friends and, in any extra spare time I have, I love to cozy up with a good book!

I'm Madison!
I am an art therapy intern at Mt Mary University in Milwaukee. I am passionate about helping individuals process grief and trauma though artwork and narratives. I especially find joy working with adolescents and young adults to process their anxieties around significant life changes.
My favorite thing about UnMasked is the community. Everyone on the team at UnMasked supports each other, creating a wonderful environment of genuine care and openness that we get to share with our clients. I enjoy many kinds of art, but I especially love character design and story telling. My favorite mediums are oil pastels, water color and collage. Outside of UnMasked, I like listening to records, playing board games with friends, baking, and hanging out with my cats.
